Research stay at Reiner Lemoine Institute

I am Djibo Boube Bachirou, a PhD candidate at the West African Excellence Center in Sustainable Rural Transformation (WAC-SRT) in Niger. With dual master's degrees in Renewable Energy and Sustainable Rural Transformation, I am dedicated to advancing sustainable development through my research.

My current research focuses on the geospatial analysis of green hydrogen potential from solar and wind energy sources. I am also investigating the optimization of green hydrogen supply chains for various end-users, including green ammonia production, industrial processing, and power sector integration (SDGs 7,9,13). Additionally, I am exploring the use of advanced technologies to optimize real-life green hydrogen production system.

My professional experience includes off-grid electrification, Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS) installation, and electrification planning using geographic information systems (GIS). As a climate change advocate, I co-founded the Climate and Sustainable Development Action Clubs (CSDAC), where we have implemented several projects in rural communities. These projects focus on capacity building for youth and women in solar water system installation, climate-smart agriculture techniques, and raising awareness about the impact of climate change on livelihoods (SDGs, 2, 5,6,7,13).
