Local governments hold the key to implementing circular economy strategies and accelerating the transition to a more sustainable city. Michiel Pauwels, is a PhD researcher at KU Leuven and VITO, where he focuses on how local governments can measure and evaluate the progress and impact of circular economy initiatives and strategies. In his research, he aims to develop a circular economy monitor for cities and municipalities to guide local policy decisions.
